Kirby And The Forgotten Land

This was my first Kirby game and I really enjoyed it. The controls are simple and the levels are great.

Each world has fresh ideas. Roller coasters, stealth sections, arcade minigames. Mouthful Mode is the star though. Swallowing a vending machine or lightbulb to solve puzzles is just weird in the best way. It’s easy early on but the optional challenges and postgame get tough.

Treasure Road time trials make you master copy abilities, the Colosseum boss rush actually tests your dodges, and co-op with Bandana Waddle Dee works great for couch play without dumbing it down. The Waddle Dee Town hub has upgrades, collectibles, and minigames.

I think the game balances accessibility with challenge really well. You can breeze through the main game, but the optional content actually tests your skills.

The game has a catchy soundtrack, vibrant visuals, and runs solid on Switch.

Definitely worth playing and I’ll be keeping a watch for the next 3D Kirby game (whenever that is).
